PROTA MARIA
Marine Gate: built in 1782 on the occasion of the passage of Pius VI by the vanvitelliano architect Francesco Maria Ciaffoni (1720-1802). The bronze bust of the Pope made by Giuseppe Valadier and the inscriptions in gold were plundered by the French. The coat of arms of the Braschi was instead demolished in 1860.
